Collin saying bedtime prayers...

Last Christmas Photo Post I promise!

So I never made it to Christmas day photos and seeing that next week is Valentine's, I decided to upload them tonight for fun among my studying for the boards which is grueling! I can't believe it has been 6 years since I took them and this is my license renewal year. It is unbelievably hard to find time to study though!!!Last week I was tellng Ashton I had a big test coming up and he asked if I was going to get a skittle if I did well? He gets Skittles sometimes at school for "making good decisions" at nap or answering a question.

Christmas Eve, my parents and bro came over. We ate our new tradition...mexican fiesta and opened gifts. My grandfather was in the hospital and got discharged right as my parents came over so Wes offered to drive over and help them get home so my parents could enjoy the boys. i am married to a wonderful wonderful man! He drove in the pouring rain too! Anyway, we had afun time and my fav pic from the day is of the boys and their new headlamps my parents gave them! Hilarious! They used them the other day when some cars got lost under our oven. They actually found several things under there!

Christmas Eve night we decided to attend our new church's Service. It turned out to be quite memorable as we attempted to take all 3 boys in with us as a special family memory. Well, Wes had to leave halfway through because Emrby scratched his nose and made it bleed. Meanwhile, Collin was in rare form. I could not control him on my own. He kept standing in his chair, moving around and talking really loud. (We say he has volume 1 and 10) Anyway, he finally yelled at me his new phrase when he gets mad, "TIME OUT" when I told him to turn around. It was humiliating so I snatched him and Ashton and we rushed out! All 5 of us ended up hanging in the lobby until Wes went back in to get all our stuff! It was quite memorable! Ashton really was upset that we didn't get to stay for the candle lighting. I was proud of him for helping Collin upstage though during the children's reading of the Christmas story. Oh well...

Cookies for Santa and Rudolph (and hem milk!)
As always, I was up half the night getting ready for the next day. Sausage balls with Ashton's cheese and vegan plain and blueberry monkey bread were wonderful! This is our traditional Christmas breakfast and I love it!!
Santa's Loot
Our tree this year has so many ornaments that the kids have made. I love that! I can't imagine when all 3 are making them at church and school!

My stocking was behind Embry's this year. I couldn't find a new holder I liked so mama's got pushed behind!

So here are some of my fav moments frrom our morning...

Collin

Ashton has entered the real LEGO world which means teeny pieces everywhere! Wes loves it though and he's really good at it!

Collin liked Embry's Mickey airplane as much as Embry did!
I love that I caught this with Ashton's hand!
I loved having a moment with COllin to put together a new Elmo puzzle since Ashton is usually the puzzle king around here! Collin is doing great with this one and was so sweet about it!

Ashton got a 200 piece puzzle and put most of it together himself last week. A train one of course but regardless, we really do need to enter him in some contest. I know I shouldn't brag, but it's pretty amazing to watch.

Collin wanted a Mickey train with Goofy and Donald. Ashton and I both told him we didn't know if they made that but Santa found one!
playing basketball together with Embry's new sports center
 Embry lovin his Mickey plane!

One sweet tired Collin fell asleep in the playroom late morning!

Christmas Evening we spent at my great aunt's house with my grandmother's three sisters and all of their families. Ashton loved wearing a tie...thank you to his cousin Edwin!
 Uncle P Mo

 wrestling as usual
 My grandmother's Birthday!
Such a great photo of Denny and Embry! This is my favorite photo of Embry on his first Christmas day!

My dear grandaddy John and A. We were thankful he had just been discharged from the hospital for Christmas (88 years old!) Please keep him in your prayers. I went yesterday with him and my mom and grandmother to his first oncology appt. He was diagnosed with an extremely rare cancer this week and will start 6 wks of intense radiation next week. Please pray for strength for him and my grandmother. Oh how we love him so and what a Rock he has built this family on. Although weak and tired, he told the oncologist yesterday he wanted it to be in the books that John A Rutledge, Jr had a tumor sent to the Mayo clinic and had such a rare form! The oncologist learned quickly that he still has his wit which is what everyone who knows him holds so dear! I did some research on a paper the oncologist spoke about and as of 2004 there were in fact only about 13 documented cases of this cancer which made this study.

So there is Christmas minus videos which I may someday upload!

Few fun quotes from A and C

Few Funny things that have been said lately...
Ashton's substitute teacher told Wes she cracked up last week when she asked Ashton where he had gotten his "tattoons" (as he calls them) on both hands. He told her,"oh I got them because I just haven't picked my nose in a few days" which is the truth but I wasn't expecting him to tell his teacher! I started bribing Collin and him that if they went a whole day without picking I would give them a tattoo! It's kind of working!

Ashton told me today, "mommy, if you were an octopus, you could really do everything" as I was trying to get all three of them fed at lunch.

Today also I overheard him whispering to Collin at the table while eating snack. I asked why he was whispering and he honestly said, "I was telling him something you don't want to hear." When I asked him what it was, he replied, "I dunno." After discussing that he does not have secrets from mommy, he finally admitted he was telling Collin the new password, "Doo doo" and he knows we don't talk about that at the table. He and Collin have this new thing where they block each other and when they say the password, one will let the other pass. It's a little worrisome that they are starting to gang up on me!

Last week I was telling Ashton he was speaking to me in a disrespectful way and Collin said, "Rude, rude, rude" to Ashton. It was pretty hilarious.Last night I was getting onto Collin in the bathrub about something and in the middle of it, Ashton says, "Mommy...I love you" because he wasn't the one in trouble! Even though they gang up, they get pleasure with seeing the other one in trouble.

Ashton lately said while eating, "Embry is just the cutest thing ever!"
