Easter

This Easter we spent with Wes' family at his sister's house in Savannah-on Skidaway Island. We had a great weekend until we got into a car accident on the way home on the interstate. It was really scary and I'm so thankful we are alright. It was my first car accident and I hope my last. Now we have yet another reason to be thankful on Easter. Praise God most of all for our Savior!
Here is a picture of us with the family after church-Sandy (Melanie's husband), Melanie (Wes' sister), Wes' dad and mom, Dr Shepherd (Sandy's father), Janet (Sandy's sister), and Edwin (our nephew) and us of course!

My Tuesday

Tonight when I got home Wes was in his online class and they were discussing which one is better to join, Facebook or Myspace. Their upcoming class is meeting in SecondLife. This is crazy. Today two nurses and I had to clean impacted wax out of a screaming baby's ear which is not fun. All in all, it was not a good day...but I just ate chocolate peanut butter cake.

B and Baby at 17 weeks

Here's a picture of me today after we took a walk. It's not very flattering but some people have asked for belly pictures...so here you go!

Our rare "mystery poster"

Wes thinks people can tell when he posts so he never identifies himself but I wanted to make it clear that I am not Mortimer Deerhunter...and i would not have posted a picture of myself in Europe-that was all him too.

Second Life

Have you heard of Second Life? I have to explore it to write a paper on web 2.0 applications. I just created an account and looked around for a while, and it is even more weird than I expected. I first heard about it a couple of months ago on the news. Little did I know I would be visiting the site myself. I don't quite know how to describe it, but if you follow the link you will get the gist of it. Basically, you go to this site and create a character. Your character can explore a virtual world and interact with other characters. The first two I people I met were not wearing clothes. So if you frequent Second Life and you run into a bewildered Mortimer Deerhunter, lend him a hand.

I also have to create accounts on MySpace and Facebook.

concerts and "travel systems"

Our baby is looking good, huh? I talked to my brother the other night who said he finally started checking the blog daily and it was annoying that we haven't posted. I wanted to thank him for taking me to the Lori McKenna concert at 2 weeks ago for my birthday gift! We had a great time and got to talk to Lori afterwards. She is a singer/songwriter that I liked when I saw her on Oprah a few years ago with Faith Hill because she wrote some of Faith's songs. Patrick travelled with her this summer when she opened up for Tim and Faith and grew to love her. She has 5 kids and writes/talks about them a lot. She's really fun to see in concert because she tells funny stories in between songs. She talked to Patrick after the concert about the Tim/Faith tour so it was really fun to "meet a star" with him!
We have also started looking at baby gear for our registry which is totally overwhelming! We looked at strollers at Babies 'R Us and Wes said it was like buying a car! He was not fond of the store. He said it was like Wal-Mart for babies. I wish I had a picture of us trying to figure out how the strollers opened and closed...it took way too long! If anyone has a great stroller "make and model" they would like to share, we'd love some opinions.
