Favorite things A has said lately:

"Nope, I didn't poop. I gased"

One morning on the monitor, "Collin, that is very rude" and then screamed, "BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER." So he is learning his verses but not sure God intended them to be used that way.

Another day last week Wes kicked a toy out of his way and Ashton said, "Daddy we don't throw toys. OBEY GOD!"

Ashton decided he needs to be more concise in his conversation tonight at the dinner table, "Mommy...get down,pick up toys, brush teeth, go potty, read story, prayers and bed." This boy is all about his routine and is constantly asking about what we're doing next. He loves to talk about all the details even which bite of food he will take next "I still have that macaroni and then some carrots..."

The other day I walked in from work, "Mommy. Look at this school bus book I found under your bed. I didn't eveen know about it!" (Few things he mispronounces but I love how he says eveen instead of even)

me:Ashton you weren't supposed to find that. It's a surprise for your birthday.

A: "oh!" giggle giggle

me: Did you find anything else?

A:"No... is there something else?" (giggle giggle)

me: no.

A: "Is there (in a sing-song voice) something eeeeelllllllse?"

And his favorite new word is "Well." He's been through the "actually" phase and we've moved to well.

Ashton, eat your pork chop. "Well... you gave me too much supper. My tummy's full. I want a brownie."

I wish I had a tape recorder around his neck because this little post doesn't even do him justice!

Family Vacation

Last week, we had our yearly St Simons beach trip and had so much fun! Ashton loved the sand and could play in it all day long and grew to enjoy the water more while Collin loved the water! Every time we put him down, he made a beeline straight for the ocean and we spent most of our time chasing him. He also loved getting dirty in the sand, unlike his bro who always prefers to sit on the blanket and dig. So funny how they can be such opposites. So here's a long photo journey through our trip. What can I say? I love taking pictures at the beach and the boys looked super cute in their swimsuits!

Ashton loved running in the ocean and by the last day he was shouting something I couldn't believe. He kept shouting, "Hannity, Sean Hannity." Crazy! I told Wes he's brainwashed the kid with his talk radio. It was pretty hilarious for a 2 year old to be shouting that.

Our second day at the beach, Wes's sister Melanie and her family joined us which was so fun! We really enjoyed getting to spend time with them. Then the third day, my cousin Heather came with her family which was also so fun! It was great to have the boys get to play with their cousins on the beach!

We spent some time at the new park by the lighthouse which was great for Ashton. It was pretty cool to swing by the ocean. One night we were there right before a storm and the waves and wind were crazy on the pier. Ashton had a ball!

All in all it was a wonderful trip...although quite exhausting for Wes and me! 2 trips to the beach a day and 2 baths and 2 rounds of sunscreen for the four of us was a lot!!By the time both boys got to bed, Wes and I crashed every night (after washing all our beach towels).

So pottytraining on the road added to our adventure! Ashton would not go in a public restroom and who can blame him?Poor guy he was so scared of the hand dryers. It was his first experience and one was so loud and powerful, he screamed like crazy when I held him up to it. After that, Wes took him in a Wendy's and the first thing he said was, "So...is there uh something in here to uh...dry our hands?!" He cracks us up. He also told Wes loudly when someone else came in, "Oh. Someone else has to tee tee." Then once when we stopped on the way home, he asked me at a McDonald's, "So...do they have paper towels?" On that same trip I was struggling to hold him onto the toilet (we have him stand on it to go) and he is leaning over and starts to swing his arms like he is swimming or flying. By that time and since it was our last stop on the way home, we were both pretty loopy and I just died laughing. I have also really had to try hard to not freak out lately about him touching anything in the bathrooms. Most people know what a germaphobe I am especially in hotels and public bathrooms. On this trip we also spent the first night in a hotel which we have never done with our kids. Poor Ashton was a little scared of what it was going to be like. It turned out fine though and he agreed to wear sandals and avoid touching the floor thanks to mommy's advice!Mimi would be so proud and I knew Kim Cannington if she reads this would love it!

What a fun way to spend Father's Day! Don't these boys look happy in their Hawaiian shirts??!! haha

Meet Dale!!!

I had so much fun last weekend getting to meet my sweet dear friend Heather's baby boy Dale who is a couple of months younger than Collin. This was their first trip down from Boston so we had a shower for Heather and Dale.We got all of the boys together for the first time. It was such a sweet day with my best friends from high school and all of our moms. We love you H, and Dale is precious! The photos of the four boys are priceless! I can't wait to show them when they're in high school. It was a very busy shower to say the least. We spent a lot of it chasing these boys around and keeping things out of their mouths!
