Every day I feel like I can't be more tired than this, another crazy busy week happens. Right now I am in physical therapy for some shoulder and neck issues and I told my therapist, "I know this sounds crazy but I never sit down except in the car and I really don't have time to do my exercises." She believed me! Anyway, thought I would jot down at least something about the past two weeks of school since the boys are just loving it!We are so blessed to have wonderful Godly teachers at our school. This week Ashton's class acted out the Adam and Eve story and Ashton loved it. he got to play God and wear a crown and his teacher said he knew everyone else's lines as well as his own. He just soaks up God's Word and it's incredible to see. I pray that will continue for him. Tonight we were reading about Paul and Silas and he asked me if people who did not like God would put us in jail if we told them about God. I had to tell him that in some countries they would. What a hard thing to tell a child! The real heartbreak is that we may see persecution in our own country during his lifetime.
On a happier note, Collin loves school too but it's been an adjustment and he's so tired from it! LAst week his teacher had a hard time waking him up from nap. She kept bouncing him on her knee to get him up but he was so groggy that when she walked away, he pulled down his pants to use the bathroom in a basket!! hahahahahha Another teacher ran over and rescued him but I had to put that on the blog for his own embarrassment one day! He also ran smack into a glass door and the principal saw that one and told Wes about it. Poor guy!! He has also had some new experiences on our days off together. Last week we went to Publix and Embry got to sit in the top "car seat" when usually he had to ride in the basket part so he's moved up and thought he was big time. ALso, Collin got to eat a Publix free kids' cookie for the first time! I have always avoided this when Ashton was around, but with Embry being so young, I just took him a cookie from home and he didn't know the difference. Collin did not understand where the cookie came from. He kept asking, "mommy, who made this for me?" It was so cute! Then yesterday we made scrambled eggs, another thing that is usually not even in our house but I wanted for collin to try it and got up enough guts to give Embry some. Collin had so much fun helping me crack them! It was so sweet. He asked if when I cracked them, a duck would pop out! haha We're having fun and I'm determined for our days off to be more focused on him since he has not had as much one on one time as I would like. It's very different without our Ashton but nice to be able to focus attention on the other two!Today I had to take the younger two to physical therapy which was interesting but Collin was so sweet and tried to read books and entertain Embry. It's nice for him to have a leader type role for a change.
Tonight was the first football game of the season so after we picked up AShton from school, we headed to visit my grandmother Jo and eat dinner with her at ChickFilA. We made a stop at Gluten Free Cutie so the boys could pick out some cupcakes and whoopie pies. So thankful for that place!
And last but not least, yesterday we welcomed our newest family member to the world, Anderson Grace, who is my cousin Heather's baby and named after our sweet Grandaddy John Rutledge, just six months after his death. It was an emotional day thinking about how I wish he could be here to know about her but also knowing how proud he must be looking down!
