We'll MissYou Goldens!

Last night we spent with our good friends Chris and Katy who are moving to Greenville this week. We're so sad to see them go but excited about having a new place to visit. We ate at Genki's which is our favorite Sushi/noodle bowl joint with them. Usually when we all go, we are seated on the left side of the restaurant which we feel is the "noncool side." We figure they look us over and think we don't qualify for the super hip side where the music usually is more techno (although last night they played a lot of Beatles.) Anyway, last night, as a farewell gift to Chris and Katy I guess, we stepped it up and were seated on the hip side! We made it-haha! We're going to miss you Goldens... and now who are we going to taste-test chocolate milks with? Oh yeah...I guess our son when he gets old enough. My cousins Heather and Matt have promised to step it up as our new Genkis partners and Sarah and Nick now have to fill in and be super GAC fans since Chris and Katy might as well have been season ticket holders last year! JK Spencers. Anyway, we love you Chris and Katy!

Pollen

Even poor Haley was sneezing on our walk today... which explains the half-eaten Zyrtec on the floor last week with her teeth marks all over the wrapper. The only problem with Zyrtec going over-the-counter is that I have fewer patients coming in for allergies. Haley seems to be grateful though.

I keep getting requests for pictures. This is one from last week at 21 weeks for my cousin Laura who I have not seen since Christmas! You cannot tell too much except my cheeks are getting really puffy. It doesn't help when drug reps bring Macaroni Grill for lunch and then a midafternoon Blizzard snack at work-two of my favorites!!! I will try to get some better pictures this weekend. I must be looking bigger though because my patients have started talking to me about it. Up until now, they would ask a nurse or check out person because they didn't want to offend me if I wasn't. Unfortunately my nausea has come back this week a little...will it ever go away? Wes' co-worker Jeanne said her nausea didn't go away until her son was 5. Thanks a lot Jeanne.

Baby Boomer Grandparents

Apparently, the baby-boomer generation is not happy with the traditional grandparent names. This is what my mom and dad tell me after researching names online. There actually are websites dedicated to people who are "too hip" for traditional names. If you know my parents, this type of thing is totally up their alley! So they have been looking at websites for new names the baby can call them. Yesterday we had lunch with them (and Patrick who was in town) at the OK Cafe. My dad brought his list of favorite "southern" grandfather names. We were dying laughing and here are some of my favorites:
Ace
Bubba
Big Daddy (of course, Mr Norton has been Big Daddy for years now)
Willie-Pop
Goober
Hawgman
G-man
Catfish
Skeeter
Rascal and the best for my dad...Ron-daddy was actually on the list!

the Mother Ship

Blakely's food cravings are finally starting to pay off for me. Last night, after enjoying a huge Italian meal with Chris and Katy, she suggested a trip to the "mother ship" (a.k.a. the old Krispy Kreme on Ponce). We have called it that ever since we heard Louie Giglio use the term at a 7:22 service at North Point Community Church. I totally forgot his illustration, but we found out he loves Krispy Kreme. So do we.

You know your wife is in the medical profession...

...when she gets a letter in the mail that reads: "The AGA Institute is pleased to announce the launch of the nation's most current and concise guideline reference tool for managing constipation."
