Allergy Mamas

So I am now spending my time reading recipes from fellow "allergy mamas" blogs. Thank God there are a lot out there! We took Ashton to an allergist this week to be allergy tested and found out he is allergic to milk and eggs! He was quite a trooper through the testing and lots of bloodwork done. It is really starting to hit home that this is going to be rough and take a lot of planning and work to feed this little guy. No dairy! I am really concentrating on the fact that God made Ashton the way He did and thankfully He is teaching us how to deal with it and I'm sure the entire process will teach us to completely rely on Him. Everyday this week and everyday until he outgrows this (which we hope he will soon) I will be praying to rely on God to protect him. Please pray for us as we learn about this new allergy world! Several people have helped so far and we are so thankful! Wes and I will now be spending all our date nights alone at Cold Stone.haha

One more picture

Here's one Blakely forgot to include. Ashton could care less about the bubbles, but she's loving it.

A few recent pictures

Yesterday at Lullwater Wes and I had more fun with the bubbles than Ashton...
You can tell he is searching for something...

Ahh Cheerios! Who cares about bubbles?

Saturday we went to Augusta to see Wes's family and his sister was there with her family along with his cousin Jennifer and her three kids. We had so much fun seeing them all! Jennifer's husband commented that you can tell why we call our family of 3 the Pale Force!

Haley took her spot under the kids table while we ate lunch-smart dog!

Here's a shot while Ashton was climbing on my leg which is his new favorite thing to do-

Here's my dad being goofy in the pool with Ashton a few weeks ago. Ashton didn't know what to think about grandaddy in his float!

Some shots from the zoo!

Seven Things

I like it when my cousin Laura writes her "7 things lists" so I am stealing her idea. These are 7 things that have been on my mind this week:

1. Wes was scheduled to have sinus/nose surgery last week but it was cancelled due to insurance problems. I had felt very uneasy about the surgery and the Lord took me through a battle of truly leaning on Him before it was cancelled. I hope it has made me stronger even though Wes didn't end up having it! We ended up having a wonderful 5 days off -we had a "staycation" and ended up seeing his parents who kept Ashton while we went to the High for the Monet exhibit, eating lunch with them and our "sister in law" Janet, taking Ashton to the zoo, hanging out with Kate and George, swimming with my parents and grilling out, and just enjoying being home.
2. I have been thinking about my friend Kim who went to Africa today to see a child she has been sponsoring financially-how awesome!
3. I have had a UGA student shadow me this week at work and I think I have convinced him to become a PA versus physician! It reminded me how great my career is and brought back some sweet college memories.
4. I have loved hearing Ashton laugh as he chases Haley and "head-butts" her!
5. Wes is reading EM Bounds' Complete Works on Prayer and it has got us thinking about prayer and our approach. Do we really expect God to answer?
6: My brother is in Colorado this week and went to Red Rocks. He has been on my mind while he is enjoying the mountains. We miss you!
7. We have someone looking at the condo tomorrow!

Sometimes the Lord allows us to be sick so that we can stay home and rest. We haven't relaxed this much since Ashton was first born! Unfortunately Wes came down with this crazy virus last night so we stayed home again today and played.

Happy Fourth!

We're so thankful for our country! We had a great day so far-swimming and eating BBQ! Ashton loved his pork! We are finally getting well after a rough virus. Ashton broke out in an awful rash this week and I had some horrible muscle aches but am finally feeling better today. Here are some photos from our visit to the Fosters last Monday when we took Audrey and Ashton swimming. He always looks so serious in his float while Audrey's having a blast! They are such cuties playing together.
