10 Years Ago Tonight...

I met my sweetheart at a Drivin' and Cryin' Concert at AMF in Athens! It was one of the first weeks of college for us and I am forever grateful for Brian Westphal who introduced us. I know you won't believe this but I fell in love the night we met! This was at the Sundial earlier this year. There aren't too many pictures lately of us alone!

P-Mo, Goldens, and bike ride

So happy to see our Patrick since he had not been home since Easter! Don't he and Ashton look alike? So many people have told us that! Below Ashton is wearing his Run DMC shirt Patrick gave him that is too fun to wear out and see what comments he gets!

Much of Ashton's time lately is spent with this "mailtruck" delivering the mail. Rain, sleet, or snow he is diehard about those letters.

Here at my parent's house, he is discovering the stairs for the first time.

With just a little help from Wes, he was off and climbed them six times until we ended it! I think he would have gone all night!

At the top with Uncle P-Mo....

We celebrated my dad's b'day with a bang.

Football season means the Goldens are in town and on Sunday after church, they came to visit which we always love!

Ashton usually has a block in each hand in case they are needed lately

After a free lunch at Chick-Fil-A, we headed for Ashton's first bikeride at the Alpharetta Greenway. We loved it but as you can see, he hated wearing a helmet! He spent most of the ride trying to get it off.

I love this picture-if you look closely, you can tell he is trying to yank that helmet off!

Even though I hate pictures of myself in a helmet, I had to post this one because Ashton's face is too funny. Wes says he is saying, "What did we just do and why are we wearing these on out heads?"Happy labor Day!

Three Musketeers, Spartans, and Firetrucks

Remember these three sleeping babies who just a year ago became buds over their mommy's lunches?
here they are now! All one year old! We had fun celebrating together at Luke's party last weekend!

Ashton already chasing the girl...Audrey's such a cutie!

Luke loved his cake!

Friday night was the first Spartan's game of the season and we're so happy to have Robert joining the band this year!

Ashton loved the game and really watched the band! All four grandparents were also there to open the season!

Yesterday, we went to the Taste of Chamblee Festival with George and Kate. It was hot but we had some good food and fun times with the Koulouris fam! Next year, we'll have baby Koulouris for Ashton to pal around with! The Dekalb firefighters were there letting the kids see their firetruck. Ashton was much more interested in their fire dog! He's just like his mama and Mimi... adores those pups!

Aloha to Being One and Adios to therapy!

Ashton was WAY EXCITED to pose by the Scottish Rite turtle today!
Today was Ashton's last Physical therapy, or at least we think! We thought he was going to graduate but our therapist says he still has a slight neck tilt that we need to watch and if it doesn't go away, we may be back. But we're hoping it was his last visit and he does too. I have loved our therapist, Kim, at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and we are so thankful for all she has done for Ashton. She has been seeing him since he was only a couple weeks old. Up until the last couple of visits, Ashton has liked therapy but as you can see from this photo, he really LOVED this visit!haha She said she knows his personality and thinks it is normal that he hasn't "let go" of his push toys and started walking because he has always been "laid back and cautious!" I thought that was hilarious. I wonder who he gets that from?
We also took the books that everyone donated at his party to the hospital today after therapy and they were so appreciative-thanks everyone for donating. We thought it would be a neat way for Ashton to give back to CHOA for helping him with his neck.
These pictures are from his second b'day party at daycare this week. We had a hawaiian themed party for him and his girlfriend, Kate, who also turned one this month. It was so fun and all the kids dressed up! Here's a photo of the kids eating cake while Kate's mom holds their hats on since they both hated them! Ashton was way more into the cake this time without the big audience.

Here's our wonderful babysitter, Ms. Linda, who we love so much with her birthday babies!!

I don't know what these two were plotting in this one!

The other kids watched in anticipation as the babies opened their gifts

opening presents

I can't believe we got them all still enough for these group photos!

Ashton's Party Pictures!

We had a great time yesterday at Ashton's party. Sorry for the amount of photos! Half of them he's nearly naked since I thought he would enjoy playing in his cake but ended up being a little shy. We love the naked shots on his new fourwheeler...quite the redneck birthday party! I'm sure he'll hate them one day! haha

Happy Birthday to our baby boy!

How fast they grow! This was one year ago today...he didn't
mind hats back then!

We praise God for Ashton Thomas!

Allergy Mamas

So I am now spending my time reading recipes from fellow "allergy mamas" blogs. Thank God there are a lot out there! We took Ashton to an allergist this week to be allergy tested and found out he is allergic to milk and eggs! He was quite a trooper through the testing and lots of bloodwork done. It is really starting to hit home that this is going to be rough and take a lot of planning and work to feed this little guy. No dairy! I am really concentrating on the fact that God made Ashton the way He did and thankfully He is teaching us how to deal with it and I'm sure the entire process will teach us to completely rely on Him. Everyday this week and everyday until he outgrows this (which we hope he will soon) I will be praying to rely on God to protect him. Please pray for us as we learn about this new allergy world! Several people have helped so far and we are so thankful! Wes and I will now be spending all our date nights alone at Cold Stone.haha
