better late than never...Easter!!

Just in time for back to school, thought I would try to post some Easter pics.

Trying to get three boys out of the house was CRAZY for the first time. Here's our quick picture as we headed out the door. Embry crying, Ashton hitting the EAster flag and then here's our happy pic after church. haha! Real life rules! I can't say that getting out the door is much easier now that it is a few months later. As a patient who had kids similar distance apart from mine once said, I know  how you are feeling, You're just trying to survive right now. This is totally true!!

The rest of the day we spent at my parent's house. We enjoyed our time. It was also Emrby's first time going to church!

Great Ashton Quotes

"Mommy, I'm tired of chewing this meat. It won't let me stop anytime."

"Mommy is the change diaper lady" (Thankfully not his anymore since he is 3 mos completely pottytrained!!)

me getting in the car, "Ashton, please hurry up and buckle your seatbelt"
Ashton, "Stop entertaining me!!!"  (I think he meant irritating)

To Collin the other morning when he wanted to run in the house with him while wearing his new  Superman cape PJs he inherited from his cousin, "Collin, run with me"
Collin, "No A-tin"
A, "Collin, if you don't run, you might get a tummy ache"while he looked at me grinning.

Then to me, "Mommy, my cape goes to the side when I run. It won't go back. But on TV, it does. Can you make it go back?" (meaning flow behind him)

swimming lesson

Ashton has been taking swimming lessons at our pool and today our pool was closed for treatment so we had it at a gated country club/community near our house. We were late getting there, as usual these days getting these three boys anywhere, so I ran Ashton out of the car to hand him over to his teacher so I could get the other two out. However I could not find the entrance to the pool. It was gated and we were on a hill with a clubhouse and playground that overlooked the gated pool. There were fences everywhere and I could see a tall set of stairs leading to the pool but couldn't find the gate. Ashton was wearing flip flops and cannot walk well in them and so I carried him to save time. I ran in the clubhouse and the entrance to the pool from it was closed so I ran all around looking for the gate. Finally someone pointed me to the gate but the code I was told to use would not work. We were right by a waterslide with rushing water so it was so loud that Ashton and I kept yelling but his teacher did not hear us to let us in. Meanwhile, I knew it was too hot for the other boys in the car so I told Ashton to wait at the gate so I could get them. Collin didn't want to walk because he was not feeling well-he has strep throat- but I couldn't carry him because i had Embry and there was no way a stroller was getting into the pool. I grabbed Embry and left sunscreen, Embry's bottle, and their water in the van because I just couldn't carry it all with their bags too. We get back to the gate and are yelling some more. Finally a man heard us and let us in. By this time I am wondering why we even came because the lesson would be over. As we are walking VERY SLOWLY down this flight of stairs Ashton says, "Mommy while you were getting Collin and Embry I said to myself, "This is TERRIBLE!" I am so glad he gave me something to laugh at because I was about to cry. He did have his lesson and I prayed the whole time he wouldn't get burned and that Collin would ignore the thirst and Embry could hold off eating. God heard my prayers. Collin was thirsty but Ashton explained, "Collin if we get your water, we will not be able to get back in!!!"

A's learning new words and hard lessons

Going to the grocery store yesterday, I pleaded as usual"Ashton PLEASE hurry up and buckle up"
Ashton, "Stop entertaining me!"
I had to laugh. And then when we were checking out I told him not to ask for a sticker because last time the bagger seemed a little annoyed at him when he asked. I am trying to teach him to just wait for the worker to give him one but he tells me, "But when I wait, they don't do it." He was so right! He spotted the stickers and whispered to me, "They have them" but he never asked. I was so proud but the bagger never offered him one! In fact, she was rude when I asked her to get a second cart for the groceries since once they are bagged, I cannot fit all the boys and the sacks in one cart. Then she asked if I needed help out as if I might be able to push 2 carts by myself. Then when we got outside and I told her I could unload everything myself she rolled her eyes at me and said OK. I was so angry at her for Ashton but he learned an important lesson and even told Wes, "mommy said the lady was not very nice. She was in a bad mood so I didn't get a sticker." All I could think was that I should have grabbed ten for him myself!! But then I felt guilty and thought she was probably a teen who needed Jesus. We did make some vegan ice cream cones when we got home though since he was so good!
