First Swim!

Although he held on tight to us at first and cried a little, Ashton adjusted well to the pool and ended up enjoying his float this weekend!

The Boys of Summer

I got home from work tonight and Wes said, "we had an awesome day. I taught Ashton to sword fight! He had a shovel (plastic, sand shovel) and I had a spoon."

I am still reflecting on this and not sure what to think. Here are some pictures he took of the event. The other pictures are of our trip to Athens to visit the Siples. Ashton and Lelia had fun. We can't wait to meet little Matthew soon!

Nine Months Today!

We "celebrated?" Ashton's 9 month birthday today with breakfast at Corner Bakery and then introducing the sippy cup which was a nightmare. Let's just say our little guy isn't much for change! I think most of the day he thought turning 9 months stinks until this evening when he went for a wagon ride with an "older woman", Lacie, from his class at church at our Sunday school class cookout. Look out Audrey!

Last night we went to Ashton's first of many GAC band banquets. We were so excited to introduce the band to Wes's new assistant band director, Robert, and his wife, Jennifer, and 9 month old son Nicklas. Nicklas and Ashton hit it off right away with a screaming contest while Wes spoke and Jennifer and I spent the rest of the evening entertaining them in a back room. I think the football games will be a lot more fun this year! Nicklas is four days older than Ashton but has been crawling for months and was eating Cheerios and cheese and drinking from a sippy cup...hence Ashton's birthday celebration today with his own sippy cup.

First Mother's Day

We celebrated my first Mother's Day today with brunch at the Flying Biscuit and feeding the ducks with Ashton at the park. The mother and baby ducks were great until the geese came and hissed at Wes and Haley. Wes took some awesome geese pictures and I love Ashton's face in the picture I took of him on Wes's shoulders. The cute red shoes he is wearing were Wes's baby shoes. Ashton and my sweet husband gave me beautiful pearl earrings and a Willow tree mother and son figurine. It was the perfect Mother's day!

Apology

So I was sick of feeling left out and finally broke my several year long pact with Heather and Sarah NOT to join Facebook. Sarah guessed it a few mos ago -she said I was on the verge of caving in. I'm so sorry, but I bet you join soon too!!!!

Ashton waved goodbye to me this morning...and so I cried most of the way to work.
